Recovery (Marauder Era, 1977)

Remus slowly opened his eyes, then immediately shut them, wincing. He could feel several new scars along his legs, several caked with blood. He tried to sit up, but regretted it. His arm felt like shattered glass. He opted to just lie on the floor, his head swimming with pain, and try to figure out what was wrong. He groaned in pain, and forced himself to open his eyes. He could tell he was the 'living room' area of the lower level, with sun shining through the window, signalling early morning.

A worried looking boy with long black hair opened the door to the stairs just a crack and stuck his head out. "Moony, are you awake?". Sirius' eyes were full of a concern that deepened when he saw the skinnier figure on the floor. He shut the door behind him and made across the room towards Remus.

Remus shuddered, feeling a soft breeze float through the Shack and drift through his nearly torn-to-bits clothes. "S-sirius?" he gasped, curling up his lower body. "Sirius... so c-cold..." No matter how many times he transformed, it was always the same. He always woke up bruised and bloody.

Without a second thought, Sirius pulled off his own shirt and put it on Remus. It did look the slightest bit longish on the werewolf, but it'd have to do. "Is that better, love?" he whispered. He sat down on a floorboad which creaked under him.

Remus cried out a bit when Sirius put his arm through the sleeve. It still felt like shattered glass every time he moved it. "Yeah... k-kinda... but it's still so c-c-cold..." He tried to warm himself up by wrapping his good arm around his legs. He shivered again.

"Do you want a blanket, Moony?". Is it as bad as usual? As last time? Should I hold him? Can I? Or is it... Bad? Sirius fidgeted with a strand of hair, unsure of what he could and couldn't help with. Each full moon seemed to bring Remus new wounds that needed different treatment. He coughed slightly.

(Yes, you can hug him. Just be careful of the arm.)
"Yeah... I think so... if you think that'll h-help..." He shivered for the third time. His mind was running on low because of the numbness that seemed to flow throughout his entire body. God, if only he just wasn't so hesitant to do something...

"O-okay then... Um, blanket..." His eyes fell on a thick wool throw blanket in the corner. "Uh, here!" Sirius unfolded it, coughing on the dust. Kneeling down, he gingerly wrapping Remus' shivering frame. Can't you see I'm just no good at these things? I wanna love you like the man I'm supposed to be...
"Do you need anything else? I can get you anything you want.". He hated seeing his love sick and injured. Yet, every month...

He smiled through the pain. Deciding he could handle it, he sat up. "I... I think I need to go to the Hospital Wing. Could you... uh... can you..." Remus hissed, feeling a cut in his side opening up.

"Um, should I get Madame Pomfrey?" He felt so useless. He always did. He was good at trying to control the wolf during the night, but when it came to the injuries...

"You could... just... carry me..." Remus coughed, wheezing. Damn allergies. NOT THE RIGHT TIME, SINUSES.

Sirius tried to smile confidently, faltering. "O-of course." He picked up the smaller boy gently, careful not to touch any open wounds. "Is that okay, love?" Remus felt lighter than he should have.

Remus sighed, finally warming up. "Mmmm... yeah... very... just... watch the arm... I think I might have broken it..." He leaned his head on Sirius' chest, closing his eyes and just letting himself be held.

Sirius immediatley made sure nothing was touching Remus' bad arm. He could feel Remus' head against his chest. He wondered if the other boy could hear his heart pounding. It had been a year since that Valentine's Day, that wonderful dance, but he still felt like a giggling schoolgirl whenever Remus touched him.

Remus wondered briefly if it was just his werewolf senses, but he could distinctly hear Sirius' heart. It was comforting. He lifted his head and placed a kiss on Sirius' neck. "Thank you... love..."

Sirius blushed. "Y-you're welcome..." I'd do anything at all. Really. For you...
He used his hip to open the door. The snowy air hit them both like a wall. "Ergh..." His feet sank into the drifts.

"Gah!" Remus nearly shrieked when the cold hit them both. "S-sirius! You could always use the passageway!"

(Dear Sarah, Please attempt to use your extensive Marauder knowledge in a way that benefits you, like RPing, and not wasting it on making yourself look like a loser in school. You could at least remember the crap WHEN IT COMES IN HANDY. Love, Sirius.)

You know, you COULD. If you weren't so focused on having the cutest guy at Hogwarts relying on you, you might have remembered a way back that YOU USE EVERY MONTH. "Uh, right, sorry." He shut the door quickly, embarrassed. "R-right, the passage."

(LAWL. And YAY for having another half an hour!)
Remus chuckled, then immediately regretted it, as it painfully contorted a cut on his chest. He leaned his on Sirius shoulder and buried his face in his neck. Sirius' smell was comforting, and Remus sighed into it.

(YAY~!)

Sirius felt Remus flinch against him. "Did that hurt? Was it my fault? I'm sorry." He half-stumbled towards the passage.
It was dim, and Sirius walked slowly, ttrying not to hurt Remus further through a blunder. "We're almost there, love. Still awake?"

Remus nodded against Sirius' neck. "Uh-huh... Mph... Siri.... you smell nice..." Remus reached up, wrapping his good arm around Sirius' neck.

Sirius giggled. I DIDN'T JUST GiGGLE. MERLIN'S PANTS. He hoisted Remus up a little bit to keep from dropping him.

"Siri.. are you sure I'm not too heavy...? I could try walking..." Remus offered. He knew Sirius was strong, but he felt guilty for having Sirius do all this work.

"Youre not heavy at all. Honestly, you should probably eat more.". He smirked a little. Yes, eat more. Because the house elves totally needed fifth helpings to cook. That boy could eat ROCKS (protien shakes and falcon eggs) and still not gain a thing.
"I'm fine carrying you."

Remus yawned, exhaling somewhere near Sirius' jaw. "Huh. If you say so..." He clung tighter to Sirius. "Mmmmm... I lus you so much..." The last part was muffled by Sirius' hair.
